Getting Started

New to BoxBip? Here's how to begin:

  • Create an account — Click "Sign Up" and enter your email, username, and password to join the community.
  • Complete your profile — Add a profile picture, bio, and cover image to let others know who you are.
  • Create your first post — Share text, images, or videos with your followers.
  • Follow interesting people — Discover users with similar interests and follow them to see their posts in your feed.

Posts & Content

How to share and manage your content:

  • Create a quick post — Use the post composer at the top of your feed to share your thoughts instantly.
  • Add images to posts — Click the image icon to upload JPG or PNG files (up to 10MB per image).
  • Upload videos — Share MP4 videos up to 100MB. Videos are automatically optimized for playback.
  • Edit or delete your posts — Click the three dots menu on your post to make changes or remove it.

Privacy & Safety

Your privacy matters. Here's how we protect you:

  • Privacy settings explained — Control who can comment on your posts and who can follow you from your profile settings.
  • How to block users — Visit any user's profile, click the three dots menu, and select "Block User" to prevent interactions.
  • Reporting inappropriate content — Flag posts or comments that violate our guidelines using the report button.
  • Deleting your account — Navigate to Profile → Edit Profile → Danger Zone to permanently remove your account (this cannot be undone).

Stay connected with your community:

  • How to follow users — Click the "Follow" button on any user's profile to see their posts in your feed.
  • Understanding the Trending tab — Discover popular posts based on recent engagement (likes, comments, and shares).
  • Video and photo feeds — Browse media-only views to quickly find visual content from people you follow.
  • Filtering content — Use category filters to see posts from specific topics like Technology, Health, or Entertainment.

Comments & Engagement

Interact with the community:

  • Commenting on posts — Click the comment icon under any post to join the conversation.
  • Replying to comments — Use the reply button on any comment to create threaded discussions.
  • Liking content — Show appreciation for posts and comments by clicking the heart icon.
  • Sharing posts — Re-share interesting content to your own followers with the share button.

Troubleshooting

Having issues? Try these solutions:

  • Login problems — Clear your browser cache or use the "Forgot Password" link to reset your credentials.
  • Images not loading — Check your internet connection or try refreshing the page. Large images may take a few seconds.
  • Video playback issues — Ensure your browser is up to date. Try switching to a different browser if problems persist.
  • Not getting notifications — Check your notification settings in your profile and verify your email address is confirmed.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I delete my account?
Go to your Profile → Edit Profile → Scroll to the Danger Zone section → Click "Delete Account". You'll need to confirm your username and confirm the deletion. This action is permanent and cannot be undone.
How do I block someone?
Visit the user's profile → Click the three dots menu → Select "Block User". Blocked users cannot interact with your content or contact you. You can manage blocked users in your Privacy Settings.
How do I report inappropriate content?
Click the three dots menu on any post or comment and select "Report". You can also use our Report an Issue page to submit a detailed report. All reports are reviewed by our team.
Who can see my posts?
Your posts are visible to all registered users. You can adjust your privacy settings in your profile to control who can comment on your posts and who can follow you.
How do I upload videos?
Click the "Create Post" button at the top of your feed, then click the video icon to select an MP4 file from your device. Videos must be under 100MB. We're working on a dedicated video upload feature for longer content.
I forgot my password. What do I do?
Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your email address and we'll send you a password reset link. If you don't receive it within 5 minutes, check your spam folder.
Why am I not getting notifications?
First, check your notification settings in your profile (bell icon). Make sure browser notifications are enabled. Also verify your email address is confirmed. If using mobile, check your device notification permissions.
How do categories work?
Categories help organize content by topic (Technology, Health, Business, etc.). You can filter posts by category using the dropdown menu. When creating a post, you can assign it to one or more categories to help others discover your content.
How do I save posts to Favorites?
Click the heart icon on any post to add it to your Favorites. You can find all your saved posts in the Favorites tab. This is a great way to bookmark content you want to revisit later.
How do I send a private message?
Visit any user's profile and click the "Message" button. You can also start a chat from the Messages tab. Private messages are real-time and only visible to you and the recipient.
What are the file size limits?
Images: 10MB per file (JPG, PNG, GIF, WebP). Videos: 100MB per file (MP4 only). Profile pictures: 5MB. If you need to share larger files, consider using cloud storage and sharing a link.
